Judit Mascó doesn’t like being told that she looks like one of her daughters’ sisters, nor does she believe that a mother should be a friend before being a mother. She becomes serious at this point. Her common sense is well known, particularly in the way she has approached her professional career and led humanitarian projects over the past 25 years, such as ARED, until recently doing so almost anonymously. When she talks about her daughters’ adolescence or their studies, her role as a sensible, practical mother, with just the right amount of affection, becomes clear. But seeing the five of them together, one can’t help thinking they look like a group of friends leaving school.
